knocking our door

Around nine pm here already and I just turned off the lights outside and locked up our front door. I know that nobody will come for a visit and I got my children ready to go to bed. But suddenly somebody was knocking on our door it scared me. I looked out our window and I saw my friend, smiling at me. She came by just to give me some food that she had cooked earlier. I never expect her to come by because she never called me. I am happy to see her, I think it is more than a month since she came over to see me. We are talking sometimes on the phone and I know that she is always busy with work and home like me.
