ignorant about ipod

On Christmas my husband gave me an Ipod as a gift. I was very happy but I have a problem, I do not know how to use it or download music. My husband is trying to figure out of how to use it. Tonight he just took it from the box and charged the battery. He was trying to read the instruction that came with it. I am excited to use this and put my favorite music on it. I wish I knew a site where I can download music for free. I am very ignorant about this Ipod thing. This is already my second one. Two years ago my husband gave me one but I give it to one of my friends. I do not know how to use it so I gave it away and now I have a new one and still do not know how to use it. This time I am going to keep it so that I can listen my music while I am at work.
