keyboard messed up

I do not know what is wrong with my new laptop the key board was not working right. Every time I typed the letters the numbers come out and some of the keys were not working. My husband went to the electronics store this afternoon to pick up a new key board and while he was there he looked for the best metal detectors to use for his job tomorrow. When he got home he put the new keyboard on but it does not working either. I got mad at him and told him he needs to bring the laptop at the store tomorrow to be checked out. This is the new laptop that I bought in June and now it is messed up.
